Devil Yellow

The idea of a rural photoshoot showcasing an iconic vintage landrover in the wild with modern trending fashion .. themes of adventure, wilderness, fashion and style.

This shoot took place northern NSW Australia on a private rural property chosen for its large open spaces, gentle rolling hills, yellow/green vegetation and clear blue skies above. The Land Rover used was sourced locally - a 1977 model with factory paintwork named ‘Devil Yellow’ and stamped limited edition number 175 of just 450 made. The fashion was chosen and styled to match both the adventure theme - warm earthy tones and a splash of colour here and there. Contemporary and relaxed - modern fashion meets adventure and the great outdoors - from YD Australia, Scotch and Soda and Will & Bear.

An APPRECIATION of the CLASSICS is foundational when it comes to discerning the essence of enduring style.

In it’s purest form, TIMELESS STYLE requires little to no intervention, however with the inclusion of subtle modern elements, this aesthetic will never fail and remains as timeless as it is modern.

With a colour palate that endures and the deliberate selection of time honoured designs with hints of today, in 2020 we can pay homage to the grass roots of fashion, proving that at every age and in every season, this STYLE GENRE will forever be in VOGUE.

And while reinvention may not be required, there is always room for personal interpretation. Playing with pops of colour, the use of interesting textures and attending to the final details all play their part in creating a modern day classic that doesn’t feel like too much of a departure from the every day.

Find a hat, a pair of shoes, a scarf and layer upon layer, keep it real an attainable with interchangeable pieces that will be once your trusted ‘forever finds’.

These images reflect my own interpretation of the classics - clean lines, classic colour tones and a splash of colour. They will never date and never become tired, always relevant and always part of my story that is unfolding; a melding if you like of the past and present as we enter into a decade that is guaranteed to be like none before it .. in a way historic even before it’s been realised.

This is 2020.
